Corporate Workshop Trends 2018

We can feel it. 2018 is the year of productive meetings. So. . . before Xmas party planning gets underway, time to plan workshops that go beyond the usual conference room setting. Looking for a unique space that drives input and collaboration from the team? How do you plan that? What does this mean for your next monthly meeting?

Here’s our take on what’s happening — and what needs to happen — to deliver great workshops and meetings for the year ahead.

Find A Flexible Space

Look for spaces where the layout can be easily adapted to meet your specific requirements. A popular way to go is find a venue or space that breaks away from the common office environment or usual meeting space. It may be a space that resembles a think tank vibe, with comfortable seating options, new furniture, decor and fluid spaces to suit your business needs. Outdoor venues hit the flexible space brief, as do venues found in unexpected places e.g. a converted church come warehouse.

A unique venue can inject excitement to the day, well before the workshop even starts.

Integrate Informal Creative Spaces

Brainstorming areas and networking spaces outside the main workshop space provide the best setting for collaborative thinking, idea generation, and interacting.  You can improve the workshop experience by incorporating ample time for brainstorming sessions in informal spaces. For example, think about scattering groups of lounge pods in different spaces. Informal spaces and various workshop areas keep team moral high and add to the overall workshop experience. Let’s get those creative juices flowing!

Go WILD With The Food & Drink!

The budget per head for catering is usually on the tight side. Let’s be honest serving wraps, fruit platters and muffins would be a total let down.  Time to turn things upside down. Why not value lunch as a chance for the team to interact, network and connect - rather than a compulsory break? Decide on a menu different from the usual. No need to spend a fortune either. Use a corporate caterer with innovative food suggestions and styling – we know many!
